At the F8 Developers Conference which was held yesterday, Facebook has announced a much needed video embedding feature. Along with this welcome addition, Facebook also announced several other features to improve the overall platform.
In order to share a video uploaded on Facebook, users previously had to share the link of the Facebook page or share the long video url. Sharing such long URL’s sometimes would be inconvenient while sharing posts on micro blogging sites. Finally, Facebook announced a solution to it.
From today the users on Facebook will be able to see the embed option on their videos. Through which one can copy and paste the necessary HTML code onto their website.
It can be clearly seen that Facebook has taken YouTube as a serious competition and besides that this move proves it by improving the video experience for users on Facebook. It can be pretty evident with the revamped video sections which closely imitate a YouTube channel page. It will let company pages to highlight content on business and brand pages. With all the viral content being shared on Facebook in the form of videos, it was imperative for Facebook to improvise this service.
The other announcements to improvise Facebook as a whole platform were the Messenger Platform; Parse which will let developers to build apps for Internet.org, other wearable devices and other smart appliances; LiveRail which will let publishers sell display and video ads using Facebook data; Spherical videos which brings virtual reality to the news feed.
